London, UK (April 15th 2006) - Metaglue Corporation announced today that Ascent Media Group (AMG), has chosen Metaglue to provide metadata tools for their US operation. Products include MXFixer and AAFixer for opening, nalyzing and rewrapping metadata in MXF and AAF files, and Diffuser to manage the Ascent Media Group's custom metadata dictionary.

MXFixer will be used for quality assurance of the metadata in MXF files, while AAFixer will support AMG's Atlas automated digital media management services, as they expand to deliver AAF based media.

Diffuser has already been in operation as a Hosted Service from Metaglue for over a year. This tool has enabled AMG to establish and maintain a company specific metadata dictionary which matches their business needs and can be used across the whole organisation and client base.

MXFixer is a simple, effective tool to extract the essence and metadata from an MXF file, examine the metadata, check it against known requirements and then rewrap the file. As a tool for routine checking of specific information by relatively non-technical staff at any stage of the production process, MXFixer is an important contribution to tapeless broadcasting. MXFixer gives any organisation the ability to quickly check the metadata and gain confidence that this part of the content is understood and correct. AAFixer performs a similar function but works with AAF files.

Diffuser enables the specific metadata requirements for an organisation to be combined with industry standards to create an evolving master reference. Today, this enables all the metadata to be fully exploited - in the filing and management of content and in process control. In the future, it ensures that a master metadata dictionary keeps up with changing processes and workflows. Diffuser can first be adopted in a simple form and expanded in features and scale as demands grow.
