Oliver has 25 years experience as an engineer, manager and technical
strategist in broadcast television, developing and introducing innovative
systems for post production. His experience includes five years as Senior
Consulting Engineer with Avid Technology and seven years as Director of
Engineering at Sony Corporation's Advanced Development Centre. In the 1980s,
he was Director of Engineering for Convergence Corporation, one of the
pioneering companies of videotape editing systems.
Oliver is a principal architect of the Advanced Authoring Format and the
Material Exchange Format. He is a board member of the AAF Association, with
special responsibility for Developer members. Oliver chaired the SMPTE
Wrappers and Metadata Technology Committee from its inception through the
creation of the SMPTE Metadata Registry and the Material Exchange Format,
and continues to participate strongly in standards activities at SMPTE and
elsewhere.

Ian has wide experience of many aspects of the broadcasting and media environment.
Ian was a senior engineering manager at the BBC, including Head of Technical Strategy for
Broadcast, and many roles in BBC Post Production and Graphic Design,
especially as Head of Engineering and Head of Sales and Marketing.
Ian represented the BBC at the EBU and other standards bodies on technical matters. This gave
him a wide exposure to European media scene in general and to standards issues in particular.

Matt has a Masters Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Portsmouth.
During the past 15 years Matt developed MPEG pre-processors at Snell & Wilcox,
worked on the standardization of MXF at BBC R&D and went on to found freeMXF.org to develop the MXFLib library.
Matt continues to work on MXF and metadata standards within SMPTE, while providing
support to users of Metaglue's MXFplus service and developing new components for Metaglue's product range.

With a background in television production and editing,
Lisa contributed to GTE's early interactive cable television venture:
Main Street. She has also developed numerous rich media programs, including a number of years at Macromedia
specializing in interactivity for R&D applications.
